Quantum-Spacetime Phenomenology
I review the current status of phenomenological programs inspired by quantum-spacetime research. I stress in particular the significance of results establishing that certain data analyses provide sensitivity to effects introduced genuinely at the Planck scale. My main focus is on phenomenological programs that affect the directions taken by studies of quantum-spacetime theories.
متن کاملA Smooth Lattice construction of the Oppenheimer-Snyder spacetime
We present test results for the smooth lattice method using an OppenheimerSnyder spacetime. The results are in excellent agreement with theory and numerical results from other authors.
متن کاملPhenomenology on a Slice of AdS 5 ×M δ Spacetime ∗
We study the phenomenology resulting from backgrounds of the form AdS 5 × M δ , where M δ denotes a generic manifold of dimension δ ≥ 1, and AdS 5 is the slice of 5-dimensional anti-de Sitter space which generates the hierarchy in the Randall-Sundrum (RS) model. The δ additional dimensions may be required when the RS model is embedded into a more fundamental theory. We analyze two classes of δ−...
متن کاملCausal Set Phenomenology in Friedmann-Robertson-Walker Spacetime
The causal set approach to quantum gravity states that spacetime is not a continuous Lorenztian manifold but a causal set composed of discrete spacetime elements together with their causal relations. It is argued that using only causality and discreteness, one can recover a more fundamental theory of gravitation with interesting qualities. Though the theory is incomplete, some phenomenological ...
متن کاملWeb People Search Based on Locality and Relative Similarity Measures
In this paper, we describe our implementation for web people search 2. We emphasize two improvements for the process, including locality-based representation for feature vectors and relative similarity measures for hierarchically organizing web pages into different clusters. We achieved the results of 0.63 for Fmeasure_0.5_BEP_BER and 0.75 for Fmeasure_0.2_BEP_BER.
